Quail Forever Specialty License Plate Brings Conservation Funding to Tennessee

This week, Governor Lee signed Senate Bill 1477 into law, bringing a new specialty license plate, and an opportunity for habitat conservation funding to Tennessee. Quail Forever is proud to thank Representative Tandy Darby for championing this bill, and for his dedication to upland conservation and hunting traditions in The Volunteer State.  

Passing this bill provides a meaningful, voluntary way to support Quail Forever’s conservation efforts, including habitat restoration, increasing public access to the outdoors, and educating the next generation of hunters and conservationists. Specialty license plates are a proven tool that allows citizens to directly invest in conservation efforts they value, while increasing public awareness of the work taking place across the state. 

“With the funding provided by this initiative, our team will continue to cultivate and inspire stewardship of Tennessee’s wildlife and their respective habitats for current and future generations,” said Catherine Carter, Tennessee Coordinating Wildlife Biologist for Quail Forever. “I would like to express our utmost gratitude to Representative Darby for supporting this bill to further northern bobwhite quail and native habitat conservation in our great state of Tennessee.” 

Visit this site to preorder a Quail Forever specialty license plate today. The license plate costs $40 each and 1,000 signatures must be collected by June 30, 2027. Once this is complete, the plate can become available statewide.
